Places are filling fast for our Singing Day on Saturday 9 February at Wilmslow Methodist Church, but there is still time to book! The featured work is The Canterbury Pilgrims by Sir George Dyson, which brings to life various characters from the Prologue to Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales in a series of lively and colourful musical tableaux.
We are delighted that the day will be led once again by Keith Orrell, who has presided over so many successful Barnby Singing Days, and will feature accompanist Robert Woods. Tenor soloist Philip O’Connor will join us in the afternoon to enhance our final performance!
The day will follow the usual pattern, as outlined below, and as usual there will be book and cake stalls to tempt you! The cost is unchanged at £20 for the day including morning coffee, afternoon tea and music hire. A light lunch of soup and a roll will be available for £4 with profits going to Wilmslow Wells for Africa.
At the end of the day friends and family are warmly invited to join us for tea and cake and an informal performance. No charge, but donations gratefully received!
A brochure giving full details is available to download here, and an application form here. Bookings may also be made directly with our Concerts Secretary, Ann Elphick, at email@example.com or on 01625 583752.
